                    The Medieval Conference Room
                           (early 15th Century)

One of the most historically significant rooms in Somerton, the Conference Room has beautifully preserved barrel vaulting nearly 600 years old. It was clearly once a room of great importance when the town was the judicial centre for the County of Somerset - perhaps trading on the idea that it was probably the site from where King Ina, King of Wessex at the turn of the first Millenium, ruled over much of southern England.

The 'round table' sits up to eight delegates although more can be accommodated comfortably in the room
