The White Hart Inn
Market Place, Somerton, Somerset TA11 7LX Telephone: +44 (0)1458 272314 Email: white.hart@virgin.net
The White Hart Inn lies on the site once occupied by the Royal seat of Wessex. Nothing of the former ‘castle’ remains today but evidence of the building’s later history survive with Medieval barrel vaulting in the Conference Room and the remains of an ancient staircase behind the fireplace in one of the dining rooms. With first class restaurant and bar, newly-appointed 3âââ en-suite guest rooms and a range of outbuildings surrounding a courtyard and garden, The White Hart Inn is an ideal base for visiting this most charming part of Somerset. The White Hart Inn’s speciality is fine food. Whether it is a hearty English breakfast, a relaxed lunch or a more formal evening meal that is wanted, eye-catching dishes such as poached turbot with sorrel sauce and baby turnips, mixed Italian meat platter with onion & pineapple chutney or rigatoni with chorizo, chestnut and oyster mushrooms will satisfy every taste.
